History is made as Seattle Sounders FC earn their fourth Open Cup in the past six years. While the Philadelphia Union scored the first goal, an Edu header on a set play. Chad Barrett scored a scrappy goal to draw Seattle level. There were moments of doubt, but those ended in extra time.
Extra time was the time for Sounders.
Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins earned their money. Both scored. Both passed well. Both earned a trophy.
The Open Cup victory means that Seattle Sounders FC will be back in the CONCACAF Champions League, powered by about 40,000 people.
One cup. Four times.
Tonight our history becomes legend.
