Completed just prior to the roster lock date Seattle Sounders FC waited until Friday to announce the signing of Nigerian centerback Onyekachi Apam. The paperwork is still incomplete as the team is waiting for visa and other documents, but the Olympian will be added to the roster as soon as that is done. Rumor of his signing came out earlier today.
"Onyekachi brings vast experience from French Lique 1 and the Nigerian National Team," said Sounders FC Sporting Director Chris Henderson via team release. "He is a versatile defender who can play central or wide and has the ability to start our attack from the back as well."
More notable is this note from Matt Penz of the Seattle Times who traveled to New Jersey to cover the team.

This is an injury reclamation project. Apam missed most of the past few seasons with various injuries. But, the potential within the signing is such that they signed him without having seen him play.
Apam won Silver with the Nigerian National Team at the 2008 Olympics. He was last with Rennes of Ligue 1 and Nice prior to that.
