An energetic forward out of the Academy by way of Wake Forrest Sean Okoli is a borderline National Team talent at his age level, and out of contract. The youngster is a forward, not a hybrid winger-forward or pure winger. Lost to a numbers game and was signed a year before Sounders 2 existed. His fate will be a great insight how Seattle Sounders FC intends to use its second team.
Offense:
Can be stagnant in wide positions. Flashes into attack well when a forward. Tries risky passes in high traffic. Not a great crosser, but shouldn't be in places to cross often. Good shooter in close. Doesn't have the power for long range shooting. Not a threat on set-piece situations.
Defense:
Fails to provide expected pressure when wide. Can harry defenses when up top. Defensive issues more about continual effort than skill set.
Physique:
Could use his speed better. Good strength on the ball. Can play with his back to goal at times.
Best Case 2015:
Should be a regular starter at the USL PRO level where he needs the regular playing time to develop into a potent scorer. Likely to score 12+ goals at that level.
