Victor Mansaray is still in high school. He's already a professional soccer player who is training with the first team, still playing in Academy games and now is again representing the United States. He and eight other MLS Academy players are heading to the 2015 Copa Chivas Tournament.
The USA opens its Group A stage of Copa Chivas against Monarcas Morelia on Friday, Jan. 30 (1 p.m. ET). FC Dallas is sending their own U18s to compete, in Group C with Atlas, Paranaense, Chivas and Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds. Group B includes the Mexican U17s, Argentine clubs Boca Juniors and River Plate with Monterrey and Tigres filling out that group.
The Minnesota Thunder and the Railhawks join MLS in pro sides sending players to the tournament. The only player not with an Academy or MLS team is currently at Creighton.
Chivas USA and FC Dallas U18s competed in 2014.
