Seattle
Quick training update in case you missed it. Obafemi Martins joined training, so no worries there, but Osvaldo Alonso will be seeing a specialist for vaguely described leg injury.
Sounders 2 is making a unique opportunity open to those confident in hearing themselves talk:

MLS
The New York Red Bulls traded for the top spot in the allocation order yesterday, and wasted no timing making the expected move of bringing in Sacha Kljestan. San Jose holds the top spot in the allocation now. Seattle is at 14. Once a Metro tries to figure out if the Kljestan move indicates a formation change.
Sacramento's bid to bring in the MLS just got a big investment from Vivek Ranadive. Better known as another guy that stopped Seattle from taking the Sacramento Kings.
Freddy Adu might be coming back to the MLS. Despite only being 25 his travel log resembles Rick Steves'.
USMNT
The United States faced Chile in a friendly yesterday. The United States went up early by a goal from Break Shea, but Chile equalized just three minutes later. Altidore found the back of the net to give the US a 2-1 lead going into the half, but Chile rallied for two more goals in the final 45 to win 3-2. Clint Dempsey got the start as an attacking midfielder, and Yedlin was the right wingback in a new look 3-5-2. The grades here have Dempsey at a 6 and Yedlin at a 6.5. while here Dempsey still comes in at a 6 but Yedlin comes in 1.5 lower. This highlight package includes Yedlin's 1 v 1 chance. Oh, and there's this . . .
Past 5 games, US 4-0-1 after 45 min. Now on way to 0-3-2 record after 90. Function of anything more than numerous 2nd-half subs in each?

World
Here is a rundown of the candidates challenging Sepp Blatter, with Figo being the surprise late entry.
Diego Costa has been charged with violent conduct by the FA for stamping. He faces a three match ban, presumably for forcing FIFA to use an outdated word like "stamping." Please Europe, it's "STOMPING."
