NWSL Championship Game Thread: Two Hours to a Trophy

Seattle fell just short in 2014. Now it's time to remedy that failure, on the field of their biggest rival.

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

We have arrived — through a long, circuitous season interrupted and punctuated by World Cup victory — at the final moments. The business left unfinished at the end of the 2014 season is presented again to the Reign. Lose, and prepare for another offseason of what-ifs. Win, and walk into the sunset in the echo of one of the greatest seasons in pro women's soccer history.

For an in-depth scouting report of the opposing FC Kansas City, read here. The short version is: we have to solve Amy Rodriguez, Lauren Holiday, and Becky Sauerbrunn. That's asking a lot. Our comfort is that Kansas City has to solve Kim Little, Jess Fishlock, Keelin Winters, and Hope Solo. Hopefully, that's asking even more. It is a fitting final, probably the most fitting. It will be an exhibition of the best the sport has to offer, in a stadium — Seattle loyalties notwithstanding — worthy of the moment.

The broadcast is one Fox Sports 1, and on FoxSportsGo online (if you can 'prove' you pay for Fox Sports 1), kicking off at 6:30. For at least 12,000 it'll be decided in person, on the field of the Reign's greatest rival — added incentive to lift a trophy. However you watch, join us here to document the culmination of the 2015 Reign season.
