Steve Zakuani is playing with a bunch of Seattle soccer legends

The game is being played on Sunday at Starfire.

The last time Steve Zakuani stepped on the field in a competitive setting was on Aug. 24, 2014. The speedy winger picked up an assist in the Portland Timbers' 4-2 loss to the Seattle Sounders.

Unfortunately, injuries kept him off the field for the rest of the season and Zakuani chose to retire, having made just 39 appearances over the previous four seasons while never quite making a full recovery from the broken leg he suffered in 2011.

It's not quite a competitive environment, but Zakuani will return to the field on Sunday when he plays and hosts a charity soccer match featuring a who's who of Seattle Soccer legends. The festivities kick off at 3 p.m. at Starfire Sports Complex and General Admission tickets are still available and can be purchased here. All funds raised will benefit Zakuani's Kingdom Hope.

Among the players participating are former Sounders Djimi Traore, Roger Levesque, Eddie Johnson, Patrick Ianni, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, Ben Dragavon and Taylor Graham. Sounders coaches Brian Schmetzer and Ezra Hendrickson, as well as Sporting Director Chris Henderson are also slated to play. The teams are expected to be coached by Sigi Schmid and Laura Harvey.
