Seattle

The reigning World Cup champion US women struggled early in their match in Seattle against Marta and Brazil, but a late goal from Carli Lloyd managed to pull a draw. The two teams will meet again in just a few days in Orlando.

The Sounders are being recognized by "Seattle Business" magazine as one of 25 local businesses that benefit the community.

MLS

The Colorado Rapids managed a 2-0 victory against Sporting KC. This leaves Seattle in 5th place (after tie breaks) going into the weekend and gives Seattle just a tiny bit more buffer between them and the red line.

Rumor is that Jason Kreis is facing a possible firing after only one year as the head of expansion squad NYCFC. This is probably an overreaction.

USA

Jurgen Klinsmann has been listed both as the head coach and technical director for the US Men's National Team, but it appears that his role as technical director may be in name only.

World

In the wake of the ongoing FIFA scandals, CONCACAF and CONMEBOL are starting fresh in regards to their broadcast rights. Copa America is among the tournaments which will be seeking new broadcast partners.

Speaking of the FIFA scandal, it may or may not surprise you to learn that Platini still doesn't know what he did wrong. He knows that he made a deal with Blatter to receive hundreds of thousands of dollars off of the books, he just doesn't see any problem with that.
