Behind-the-scenes footage reveals Stanford's subtle Sounders influence

Jordan Morris represents a rather obvious Seattle Sounders tie to Stanford's first-ever men's soccer national championship. The Sounders Academy alum did score a brace in Sunday's College Cup final, after all. But this behind-the-scenes footage also displays a more subtle influence around 3:09.

No, Sounders fans did not invent "boom, boom, clap" -- despite what the internet jokes may tell you -- but they are the ones who popularized in the United States. And it seems more than a tad coincidental that the Stanford men's soccer team -- led by Morris -- has apparently adopted at least part of the cheer.

Accuse us of over-reading the tea leaves if you want, but it sure seems like a positive sign that the Sounders have a special place in Morris' heart. At least, let's hope it is.
