Major Link Soccer: All I Want For Christmas is a Midfielder

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Seattle

With Andy Rose off to Coventry, Seattle is down to only 3 Central Midfielders on the roster. I don't actually have another link to share on this subject but, if Mr. Lagerwey is reading this, I would like to remind him that there are only a few hours left of shopping before Christmas gifts are expected to be ready.

MLS

With the end of 2015 rapidly approaching, SI.com has collected their top 15 MLS stories of the year. Spoiler Alert: I didn't include this under the "Seattle" heading.

The Sounders aren't the only MLS team seeing their players depart the league. After only one year on the team, the Chicago Fire will be losing David Accam to Stoke City of the Premier League.

Although only 22 years of age, Luis Gil has spent 6 years working at some level with Real Salt Lake. Now the US youth international will be moving to Liga MX and Querétaro

The most prominent potential loss from MLS is that of Didier Drogba. The Montreal Impact have admitted that they are not in control of their star's destiny.

I'm not aware of any MLS stars moving to the Bundesliga, but they are certainly open to the possibility with the league CEO stating that an American star would be  "a dream come true".

While several players have been moving upwards (or at least laterally) with their careers, Frank Yallop hasn't been so fortunate. He is the latest MLS coach to make a move down to the USL.

USA

The US Women had an undeniably successful year with their victory in the World Cup, but SI.com has a wrap-up of all of their activities this year.

Michael Bradley is your US male player of the year. American Soccer Now has some thoughts on the selection and the overall state of the team

Finally, the newly-formed US Men's U-19 team reportedly will be coached by goalkeeper Brad Friedel.
