About 13 hours after beating FC Tucson, the Seattle Sounders were back on the pitch against Minnesota United. Using a lineup of mostly reserves and playing a scrimmage made up of two 30-minute halves that even allowed re-substituting, the Sounders settled for a 1-1 tie. The Sounders got their goal from Kenny Cooper, while Miguel Ibarra scored for Minnesota.
This being a scrimmage and not a proper preseason match, there was no video. There was, however, Twitter for both the Sounders and United. Here's how they saw the action:
The Sounders return to action on Saturday at 7 p.m. against Sporting Kansas City in the Desert Diamond Cup. They'll play the New England Revolution the following Wednesday and then close out the tournament with a game on Feb. 28 that will determine where they finish. Those games will all be available on live stream.
