Sounders vs. UCLA, Preseason scrimmage: Seattle wins 5-0

Mike Russell/Sounder at Heart

In their first formal scrimmage of the preseason, the Seattle Sounders beat UCLA 5-0 on Wednesday. The Sounders got first-half goals from Obafemi Martins, Lamar Neagle and second-half goals from Chad Barrett, Kenny Cooper and Micheal Azira.

The match was not live-streamed, so here's how @LiveSounders described the goals:

Among the notable lineup decisions were Lamar Neagle starting at forward, Darwin Jones starting at wide mid and Brad Evans starting at center back. Evans' start seems particularly noteworthy as Zach Scott was healthy enough to play the second half. Considering Evans has been training at center back during preseason, this is probably something worth keeping an eye on.

The next play on Friday against the LA Galaxy before returning to Seattle and then heading to Arizona for the Desert Diamond Cup.
