Major Link Soccer: Danish labor dispute

Where will I get my pastry fix NOW?

Seattle

The Seattle Globalist has written a guide to the Seattle Sounders for people who aren't already fans, meaning that it might not hold much interest for people reading a "deep cuts" site like Sounder at Heart. We were into Sounders FC before it was cool. *double reverse irony, 70 points*

The Kitsap Pumas played the Seattle Stars over the weekend and won with a 2-1 margin.

Sounders Photos has shots from the U16 and U18 Academy matches against their respective Portland Timbers Academy peers from this weekend. Sources are also indicating that Portland teams were spotted at the Woodinville Sports Fields Saturday afternoon.

MLS

Columbus Crew SC debuted a new logo late last year which was accepted with near-universal praise, but some folks just can't let go of the past:

Oh, and we'd recommend refraining from referencing the word "strike" as much as humanly possible.

One writer at ESPNFC is going gaga over the arrival of Major League Soccer in New York, which has the Once a Metro emoji status set at *frowny face.*

As far as MLS has come (and it has come a LONG way) the league still has a long road ahead of it to meet Garber's lofty goals. He talks about the challenges the league faces today in an interview with the New York Daily News.

It's more than just Bartolome Baldomero (Let's just call him Tomato) Toledo antagonizing MLS fans two games into the 2015 season. After seeing players go down with injuries without proper punishment and penalties being inconsistently called, the Sons of Ben are trying to make their voices heard in the form of an open letter to MLS commissioner Don Garber. While the quality of referees does seem to have gotten better overall (or my bar has sunk into the Marianas Trench) it's surprising to see that referees like Toledo continue to have a profile here.

Minnesota United FC appears to be a go for top flight soccer, and will end up with perhaps the only logical conclusion for the NASL team getting squeezed from several angles.

Starting this year, US Soccer will take control of US Open Cup qualification for amateur and sub-USL teams.

LAFC may obtain their first player before they have a real name, as reports suggest that they're targeting Sulley Muntari of AC Milan.

World

A video has been released of international soccer star Wayne Rooney getting knocked out during a friendly boxing match with one of his teammates. No exact date was given, but this writer assumes it was likely a Friday.

The Danish National Team has its eyes on lockout mode.
