Sounders unceremoniously waive Kevin Parsemain

Mike Russell / Sounder at Heart

After a hot 2014 preseason Kevin Parsemain developed a cult following. A torn ACL waylaid the forward's progress during the regular season. Now after just a year with Seattle Sounders FC, Kevin Parsemain has been waived.

The body of the release follows;

SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC today announced that it has waived forward Kevin Parsemain.

Parsemain was signed by the club on March 28, 2014. The Martinique international suffered a torn ACL and was placed on the Disabled List in April of last season. He did not appear in a competitive match for Sounders FC, but scored five goals across 2014 and 2015 preseason play.

The Rave Green return to action with an international friendly on Tuesday, March 24 on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field against fist-place Mexican First Division side Club Tijuana (7:00 p.m. PT). The club returns to MLS play next Saturday, March 28 for the first road match of the season against FC Dallas. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. PT at Toyota Stadium, with the match being carried throughout Western Washington on Q13 FOX.

He will be available to other teams in a waiver draft. If he is not selected Seattle Sounders FC would retain his rights. Seattle now has 27 players under MLS contract with a single international spot open.
