DeAndre Yedlin is not on his way back to the Seattle Sounders on a loan, on a transfer or in any other fashion. That probably doesn't come as a massive surprise to you, but I feel compelled to share this news because Q13 actually asked GM Garth Lagerwey about that very possibility on Tuesday.
"I know I'm the new guy here, but I have not spoken to DeAndre Yedlin," Lagerwey said, seemingly doing his best to keep from laughing. "But I know his agent really well and he hasn't called me either. So I don't think there's any truth to those rumors."
Best I can tell, it's probably a bit kind to even call those "rumors." No remotely reputable publication or website that I can find has mentioned this possibility. There was, however, this post on a blog based in Nepal that seemed entirely speculative. Was this where the "rumor" came from? Seems that way.
While Yedlin clearly isn't set to rejoin the Sounders, Lagerwey did have at least one interesting comment. Apparently, MLS teams just got the 2015 roster rules last Friday. He also said he's expecting to add "one or two" players during the season, which admittedly seems a bit lower than expected. He did not, however, give any timeline as to when those additions might be made.
