Sounders v. FC Dallas: Gameday hype poster

Seattle takes on the top-ranked team in the West on the road. Can they earn 3 points?

Tomorrow. 5:30 p.m. PT. In Frisky Frisco, Texas. Time for the Seattle Sounders to earn a road win and return home with 3 points. It's also time to start getting pumped for the match!

While we still lack enough data to put together our gameday infographics, we hope this gameday poster will suffice. Once we get a game or two further into the season, I'll be bringing back the infographics.

Player Updates

International friendlies and injuries have taken their toll on both FC Dallas and Seattle. Dave gives us the up-to-date details on who's in and who's out in his 3 Questions. The injury report on the MLS website, updated today, notes that both Osvaldo Alonso and Clint Dempsey are out for the match, while Tyrone Mears and Chad Marshall remain questionable.

Interesting Stats

Dallas has won 11 of its last 13 MLS home matches. They're also the only team to win all 3 matches to start the season. Here's some good news:  During the 2014 regular season, the Sounders boasted the best road record in MLS, earning 27 points and scoring a league-high 34 away goals.

Michel has scored 4 career goals against the Sounders. Please, no hip thrusts this match. Michel isn't the only thorn in our side. David Texeira scored three goals against Seattle in 2014 (and he only scored four all season).

Since Oscar Pareja was named head coach, FC Dallas has only lost one match when Mauro Diaz plays at least 45 minutes. That’s 15 games with a record of 11‐1‐3. That one loss? It was last April, when the Sounders defeated Dallas 3‐2 at Toyota Stadium.

Of the six goals Dallas has scored this season, only one has come in the first half. Three have been scored between minutes 46-60. The Sounders, in just two matches, have scored one goal at every 15-minute interval EXCEPT for minutes 46-60.

Onto the Poster!
