Major Link Soccer: T-2 to strike

Come Friday the MLS could be under a work stoppage otherwise known as a "Strike." But really, strikes are more of a baseball thing.

Seattle

The Seattle Sounders sell out their games (107 and counting). Getting tickets to a Sounders game (if you're not a season ticket holder) can be a tough task. Seattle holds the mark for most expensive games in 2015. (If the season is played)

To David Tenney the science of sports is a no brainer, and with his help the Seattle Sounders have become a frontrunner in "Sports Science and Performance Management". The Sounders host an annual seminar on the subject and you would be surprised who attends.

Only two players have been officially signed by S2, but the ones that are fighting for spots can play. Undefeated and scoring goals, S2 should be a very entertaining team to watch this year.

MLS

The 20th Major League Soccer season starts on Friday, but come Wednesday night a work stoppage could be on the way for soccer in America. Looking back at the last 20 years a lot has changed but a Marxist single entity has remained.

"Work stoppages can lead to incremental changes, but if the MLS Players Union really wants to shake up the league, a legal gambit may make more sense. UCLA Law Professor Steven Bank explains"

MLS referees will be looking at the offside rules differently this year. Looking at how and why interpretation of the rule will be so important the Professional Referees Organization (PRO) recently conducted a training camp and had clarification on the subject from FIFA. Will it stop us fans from yelling at them?

US Soccer

In the Jurgen Klinsmann era of coaching, one thing is obvious: if you have German roots, you have a chance to play. Ashton Götz is the next German to be convinced to play for the USMNT, Götz as of yet does not have a US passport but will still probably be called in for the March friendlies.

The U17 Youth National Team is two for two in the CONCACAF Championship, after the U.S. started things off with a 5-0 drubbing of Cuba. Yesterday they continued the run with a 2-0 defeat of Trinidad and Tabago. The U.S. plays again on Thursday against Guatemala. The 2015 US U17 boasts a very strong team resembling the 1999 World Cup team that finished fourth.

The USWNT is struggling and need to find its mojo pretty quick. Hope Solo is back in the net for the nats and that could be a good or bad thing depending on who you speak with. One thing is for certain: this summer in Canada, the pressure will be on the Red White and Blue.

World Soccer

One day he was watching Youtube videos of Cristiano Ronaldo to improve his game. Now Joshua Pynadath goes to the same school as Ronaldo's kids and plays for Real Madrid too.

Christian Tello scored the goal, but Jackson Martinez displayed some silky smooth skill with the assist.

Call it a "bum deal" or a "back door" way to get more out of their uniforms. However you look at it Brazilian club Rio Claro could be starting a trend in advertising.

In the first half of last Saturday's English Premier League game between Stoke City and Hull City Stephen Ireland was tackled by Maynor Figueroa. The tackle was vicious, studs-first foul, but Ireland got up and continued on until half.  The refereeing in the EPL this season has been under major scrutiny.
