There was no shortage of Seattle Sounders chances in the first half, as they put six shots on frame and made Jaime Penedo work. But some sloppy defending on a set piece sends them into the half trailing 1-0.
Omar Gonzalez beat Brad Evans to the initial header, and Alan Gordon was left completely unmarked at the back post for a relatively easy goal.
From the look of the replay, Andy Rose was marking Gordon but may have tried to hand him off to Chad Marshall. In either case, neither of them followed Gordon. It should also be noted that Gyasi Zardes was also left all alone on the back post.
