Megan Rapinoe Voted NWSL Player of the Week
The Seattle Reign FC put on quite a show last weekend, defeating the Western NY Flash 5-1 (relive the fun with this highlights reel). Much of the Reign's success was due to some great play from forward Megan Rapinoe, who scored a hat-trick — her first in NWSL play — and notched an assist on Jessica Fishlock's opening goal.
Pinoe's play earned her the NWSL Player of the Week (POTW) honor for Week 1. This is the second time Rapinoe has been honored. Her first POTW award came during Week 16 of the 2013 NWSL season, when she scored two goals and had an assist in a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Red Stars.
