Seattle

The Seattle Sounders 2 will be taking on the Tulsa Roughnecks later today in Oklahoma. Match previews are available from both the Sounders FC and the Tulsa Roughnecks sites. Kickoff is at 5pm Pacific and a stream will be available through SoundersFC.com.

In addition to the Sounders on the field last night for the USMNT, Gonzalo Pineda was tapped by Fox Soccer to provide game analysis.  Pineda seemed to enjoy himself and took the time to plug his teammate Chad Marshall.

Sounders Academy standout Jordan Morris got his first start for the USMNT and took full advantage of it by scoring his first goal. As has been pointed out by approximately half of the internet, he now has more international goals than he has professional minutes.

Speaking of Seattle area natives on the national team, both Kasey Keller and Marcus Hahnemann contributed quotes for this New York Times article on US Goalkeepers.

MLS

MLS announced yesterday that this year's MLS All-Star team will face none other than Deandre Yedlin and his Tot'num Hotspurs. I will make use of this flimsiest of excuses to once again post the link to Ted Lasso and An American Coach in London. A Ted Lasso appearance would absolutely improve the All-Star game appeal.

In other former Sounder news, our own Jeremiah Oshan popped over to Mount Royal Soccer to help Montreal fans get to know their new, up and coming striker by the name of Kenny Cooper.

New York City FC hasn't had the best start to their freshman year, a contributor to The Brotherly Game popped over to Hudson River Blue to advise them on how to root for an expansion club.

The Chicago Fire have traded experience for potential sending Alex, their veteran Brazilian midfielder, to the Houston Dynamo in exchange for Generation Adidas forward Jason Johnson.

Any MLS team looking for an experienced striker will be interested in the rumor that West Ham's Carlton Cole is considering a move to MLS.

In light of ongoing whispers about how invested Red Bull (the company) is in Red Bull (the New York team), you may be interested in Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz's comments about his plans to continue in the business of football.

Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter declared after their loss against against Orlando City that "Orlando deserved to win the game." You may want to keep an eye out for flying pig droppings.

National Team

Everyone's favorite scoreline has returned. If you missed the game, you can catch recaps from American Soccer Now or Stars and Stripes FC.

One of many subplots was that of the pitch quality. USSF once again made the terrible choice of temporary sod. In this case it was being laid directly onto concrete creating an uneven surface with clear seams still evident come game time.

Jordan Morris' goal was a dream come true. A dream that he has been having for at least the last 6 months, ever since he was a little kid.

The Sounders Academy player will have to keep dreaming about being named USMNT man of the match. He was under consideration last night, but his age of 20 years old apparently made it impossible to award him the Budweiser sponsored award.

Of course dos a cero requires two goals to be scored; the second one was scored by 22-year-old New England striker Juan Agudelo. Something that New England Revolution fans are understandably excited about.

That was, of course, Jordan Morris' goal again, which is really what you came here to see. If want to see Agudelo's goal, you can check it out on YouTube.

Real Salt Lake fans will no doubt be happy to hear Beckerman declare that he is ok after being pulled from the game with an apparent injury.

Given that the US Women have already announced their Wold Cup roster, it's up to you to guess what Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan will be announcing next week when they appear on American Idol.
