Assuming there are no set backs on Friday, the Seattle Sounders should have a full complement of players available for selection when they face the Houston Dynamo on Saturday. It would mark the first time all season that has happened. Injured starters Clint Dempsey, Obafemi Martins, Osvaldo Alonso and Chad Marshall were all full participants in Thursday's 11-v-11 training session and appear to be on pace to play at least some role this weekend.
Here's what Dempsey said: "I feel good. I've been able to get in some good training sessions this week. I'm looking forward to the weekend. "
And Martins: "I'm good. I feel better now. I was feeling a lot of pain, but now I'm ready to go."
And here's what Sigi Schmid said about Alonso: "At this stage, injury wise, he's overcoming that and it's just a matter of building his fitness."
Schmid also said Marshall has been cleared and in full training after suffering an injury he likened to whiplash.
The biggest question mark for Saturday may be Marco Pappa, who is coming off an 80-minute performance for Guatemala on Tuesday. The midfielder was limited to light regeneration work on Thursday, but is expected to resume full training on Friday and doesn't seem to be worried about the work load.
"I'm more than ready," Pappa said. "I'm here, I came back from the national team and feel good."
