Obafemi Martins has scored some pretty amazing goals in his Seattle Sounders career and his latest will be right up there. In a match that was trending toward the boring, Martins suddenly injected some life when he took a pass from Clint Dempsey, did a full 360 around a defender and beat Tyler Deric for his third goal of the season.
Martins' majesty could not have been achieved without Lamar Neagle starting the whole sequence with a clever back heel that put Dempsey into space. Just a really great play all around.
The 39th minute goal also ended a 135-minute scoreless drought for the Sounders, who hadn't even put a shot on frame since the second-half of their loss to the San Jose Earthquakes.
