Seattle

Two out of three of this year's inductees into the National Soccer Hall of fame are Sounders. Sigi Schmid and Kasey Keller have both been recognized for their years of contributions to the domestic game.

Dylan Remick is once again being described as our left back of the future, a title that he also held last year around this time. Let's hope that he gets a chance to prove himself this season.

Today is the last day to vote for this week's goal of the week. I wouldn't dream of telling you who to vote for, but Obafemi Martins' goal is still pretty fun to watch.

In other ballot stuffing news, Brad Evans and Roger Levesque are once again taking place in the annual Men in Kilts fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. Voting is open now for king of the kilt.

CONCACAF

Club America started went into the second leg of their match against Herediano yesterday with a 3-0 deficit, and without one of their usual starting center backs who was suspended for his reckless (at best) play in the first leg.

This apparently wasn't too big of a deal for America who easily overcame the deficit with a 6-0 pummeling of Herediano last night. Four of those goals were scored even before Herediano went down a man with a red card in the 27th minute.

This is bound to give Montreal something to think about as they prepare for the first leg of the CCL final on April 22nd, a match which sold 10,000 tickets in less than 2 hours.

MLS

The Guardian asks if MLS can take advantage of it's new contract with Sky Sports and the summer European football drought to gain some English fans.

Speaking of the summer European football, the flood of summer friendly announcements has begun with Toronto FC set to square off against the NYCFC senior team on May 27th.

The Washington Post questions if anyone should bother buying tickets for these match-ups, and not just for the usual reason of Trophies vs. Friendlies.

The most important thing that we learned last night in a somewhat miserable thrilling draw between Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Columbus Crew SC is that apparently we have been pronouncing Chris Klute's name wrong all along.

Orlando City is reportedly close to a deal to add yet another Brazilian to their line up. There are open questions of how much the 34 year old Luis Fabiano has left, but also how he would come from from Sao Paulo which plays in a very similar schedule to MLS.

After a rough start to the season, the Philadelphia Union are already looking to bench their starting goalkeeper, Rais M'bholi.

USA

TheCup.us has posted the full first round schedule of the US Open Cup. The only local teams in this round are the Kitsap Pumas and FC Tacoma 253 who will play each other on May 13th at Mount Tahoma Stadium.

Good news! Jurgen Klinsmann says that the last year of disappointing play from the USMNT has just been experimentation. Now it's time to take things more seriously as we focus on exclusively on the Gold Cup.
