The Alliance Council has some crucial questions which need answering, and they're asking the fans to help answer them. Chief among them are the role of the club's "Democracy" ideal, and how it will apply to new Seattle Sounders FC General Manager Garth Lagerwey.

With Saturday's victory over Vancouver Whitecapsthe Cascadia standings now have Sounders FC on top with six points in two games, followed by Vancouver with four in three and Portland Timbers with one in three. With a victory in Seattle's next match with Portland on June 23 (knock on wood,) the Timbers could be eliminated in the tournament with more than four full months left in the season. Of course, it's never that simple in a rivalry match.

The rivalry win was important for the Sounders, but was it as important as the Seattle Mariners series victory over the Boston Red Sox?

MLS

Feast your eyes on renderings of the new proposed LAFC stadium, located within noseshot of downtown.

This new stadium will be a litmus test for the importance of downtown stadiums to the success of Major League soccer teams. If this team outdraws or even cannibalizes the uberly successful LA Galaxy, it will be proof that the downtown location is key to the attendance growth of the last eight or so seasons. If they can't catch the Galaxy, it will likely be because location takes a back seat to success. Then again, this is LA, so expect fickleness to taint all the numbers come 2018. The team's name an now take on more consideration.

claim of sexual assault has been filed against Erick "Cubo" Torres. Chivas USA's Torres was one of the few bright spots on that team as it faded into obscurity, immensely talented and a threat to win Goal of the Week every match. Torres' rights are now with the Houston Dynamo, and the player is with Mexico's Chivas de Guadalajara. Torres currently denies the allegations.

The Galaxy got shellacked by Orlando City in a 4-0 loss Sunday (yeah, you read that right,) but not without a little more fan controversy. Galaxy keeper Jaime Penedo was on the receiving end of a laser pointer much of the afternoon, making it the second supporter incident in Orlando's inaugural season.

Having only qualified for the playoffs once in five seasons, Philadelphia Union fans are frustrated with team CEO Nick Sakiewicz. The Sons of Ben supporters group are beginning to air their grievances despite their long-held value of support versus criticism. In order to bridge that ideological gap, their criticism does not enter the stadium. Likely unrelated, the Union knocked off DC United with a 1-0 victory last night.

The fallout from #Deflategate is so severe that all of New England (Foxborough) is getting radiation poisoning.

Kenny Cooper has been a valuable piece for Montreal Impactbut an injury in his last game might require knee surgery.

So far this year, MLS ratings on Fox Sports 1 are averaging a 54% increase on the NBC Sports broadcasts from last year.

The influence of the college game on both MLS and the National Team is waning fast.

Instead of being willing to sit injured stars and find space for up-and-coming talent, Brazil's soccer federation allowed a marketing company to decide starting lineups and rosters. This comes from a bombshell investigative report claiming the federation accepted millions of dollars to let someone else do the manager's job, even requiring doctors notes for injuries.

The owner of English Championship side Brentford has employed the betting tactics that made him rich in a new way to evaluate his club. And they appear to be working.

The day an article about Barcelona/Arsenal "Danger Zone" passes (and how valuable they are in the attack) goes without an Archer montage will be a sad day indeed.
