Sounders 2 open their US Open Cup play tonight in the second round at Starfire Stadium at 7:30pm. They face the Kitsap Pumas, a team that plays in the USL-PDL and started their season last weekend with a 2-0 win against Lane United. Kitsap played in round one against FC Tacoma 253, beating them 5-2 last Wednesday.
The Sounders will not be streaming tonight's game, so you have two options: 1. Buy a ticket and get to Tukwila tonight. Or 2. A few things of note:
1. We know Saif Kerawala, one of the Sounders Academy Keepers on the S2 roster, will be starting tonight.
2. Oalex Anderson will be missing for international duty with St. Vincent and Grenadines for Olympic and World Cup Qualifiers.
3. There is a limit on international players (5) who can be on a gameday roster for each team in this competition, so there will be a different lineup than we typically see. All things point to the Sounders not loaning many, if any, players down to S2. It also appears more players will be signed for tonight's game.
