The call was issued over social media and through the Emerald City Supporters' pre-match newsletter. It is a call for renewal, a gathering against the "other" and a reminder of what ECS is at its core - supporting Seattle Sounders FC.
To do this they are gathering where they first gathered, where they first marched. If you normally do the March to the Match, today will be different. How? That is unknown. Per their newsletter, at 5:30 PM ECS will be outside of Fuel and then marching to the match.
So with that in mind, we're going to do things a little differently this weekend. We're going to return to where the march began. Before the cameras, the stages, the bands, and the distractions. Back to when things were simple. Back to when it was just a group of friends sharing a few pints and getting to know one another before they all marched off to support their club. Join us at the FIRST bar we called home. Let's pack the pub like we used to. Let's unite as a supporter group together. Let's remember what it's like to fight for one another. This weekend let's go back to where it all started.
They are sparse on the details of what is forcing this renewal, nor do they provide information on what the change is. They are just asking their members to trust their leadership and show up.
