Sounders Spanish Language radio coverage is back

Sounders are back on Spanish radio after reaching an agreement with El Rey 1360AM and Sea Mar Health Centers. Games will be broadcast starting this weekend.

The Sounders are back on the radio, in Spanish. Starting with tomorrow's match, games will be broadcast on El Rey 1360AM. Sounders had been without a Spanish language radio station since ESPN Deportes 1490AM closed down in March.

"Zuper" Mario Rodriguez will do play-by-play and with analyst Felipe Maqueda on the call. El Ray will also have 30 minute pre and post-match shows with their coverage. El Ray is part of Sea Mar Community Health Centers which operates 50 centers across the state for various health and education services.

"I'm very excited to be the new Spanish-language radio voice of Sounders FC," said Rodriguez. "El Rey has followed the Rave Green since they joined MLS in 2009, and we couldn't be happier to now broadcast their matches over our airwaves."

El Rey takes over the Spanish language radio coverage in coordination with KUNS-TV and THIS TV, who currently cover the Sounders Spanish TV coverage, including pre and post-match shows.
