Your Caribbean Cruise itinerary?  Nope, that is the USMNT Gold Cup Group A draw which includes the United States.  What better way to prepare for home matches against these traditional CONCACAF powers than Germany in Germany?

Germany have called in a mostly full strength squad as they follow the USMNT friendly with a crucial Euro 2016 qualifier against Gibraltar three days later.  Notable absences are Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller who are being rested after a busy domestic season.  The match against Gibraltar is a home game for Gibraltar which will be played in their historic stadium, Estádio Algarve, which is most notable for annually holding the Algarve Cup.  Estádio Algarve is in Portugal, but do not let that fool you as Gibraltar is coming off their best game in Gibraltar National Team history.  It was a 6-1 loss to Scotland but the 1 goal represented the first ever competitive goal for Gibraltar.

Keys to the Game:

• Can the Germans stop the Sounders academy?  Jordan Morris and DeAndre Yedlin played crucial substitution roles against the Netherlands and each notched an assist while bringing pace to the game.
• What will Brad Evans do?  I saw The Sheriff stretching at the 1:43 mark of this MLS preview video.  So he must be providing veteran leadership to the mostly young set of center backs in camp.
• Was Friday's win over Holland the sea change event that some are making it out to be where the younger generation of USMNT players seize the reigns from established veterans?  Probably not, but it sure was exciting.
• Can Jurgen Klinsmann lead his team to another historic win in a friendly?  All kidding aside, the friendly record under Klinsmann is actually quite good with wins over Germany, Italy and recently the Netherlands under Klinsmann.
