The hammer finally dropped. Sergio Mota saw a straight red for his two-footed kick to a LA II player's groin in last Thursday's win over Los Dos at Starfire. Today, USL added an extra two games to his suspension for violent conduct, bringing it to a total of three games. The suspension is less than many initially suggested but falls in line with previous "violent conduct" suspensions.
S2 already knew it would be without Sergio for Saturday's match at Arizona United. They'll also miss him for the June 25th match at Starfire against the Real Monarchs and the June 29th match against Timbers 2. The good news for S2 of these games only T2 is a playoff side right now and Arizona and Real Monarchs sit in the bottom two places of the Western Conference. If there were games to be missing him for, these are the ones they can handle it in.
