Did you know that there are Erik Friberg memories that don't involve tacos? covers his return.

The CONCACAF Champions League schedule has been released. The Sounders will be starting with an away match vs. Vancouver just 4 days after Vancouver plays here in league play.

ProstAmerika has posted the latest segment of Hinton Unleashed, where Alan Hinton provides his thoughts on the Sounders' current roster challenges.

The new "core player" rule has yet to be publicly defined, but talks between LA Galaxy and Giovani Dos Santos are apparently in "very advanced" stages.

Minnesota United may have an uncertain future after failing to meet a deadline set by MLS requiring them to show progress on their stadium plans.

DC United, on the other hand, is actually making progress on stadium plans. The DC Council unanimously voted to buy most of the land needed, although eminent domain challenges remain.

The Philadelphia Union will also see a change to their stadium, although it will be in name only. PPL Energy has rebranded as Talen Energy and will be presumably renaming the stadium to match.

In MLS transfer news, Frank Lampard has begun practicing with NYCFC. With no Manchester City games scheduled for the next couple of weeks, he will most likely be joining NYCFC officially.

FC Dallas has been linked with Arsenal midfielder Adou Diaby. Commentors on Big D Soccer have some concerns with this rumor.

The New York Red Bulls presumably didn't work too hard to find their latest apparent trialist, an English winger by the name of Shaun Wright-Phillips.

US Open Cup

The US Open Cup is down to just MLS teams after the New York Cosmos lost to the New York Red Bulls by a score of 4-1.

In the second match last night, FC Dallas lost to Dom Dwyer by a score of 4-2. The score was 6-2 if you count the other 10 SKC players.

Real Salt Lake also handily knocked off Portland by a score of 2-0.

San Jose kept up their long-held tradition of streaming their home US Open Cup matches through an AOL free trial dial-up connection which caused me not to watch it, but apparently the LA Galaxy won 1-0

The NWSL has announced a broadcast deal with Fox Sports. The scheduled broadcasts will all be filmed in either Portland or Houston. Seattle Reign will feature as the away team in two matches.

The pitch got fairly waterlogged in the match last weekend between The Rochester Rhinos and the Pittsburgh Riverhound. It got a little bit messy.

The World Cup semi-final yesterday was a somewhat ridiculous game with goals consisting of 1 penalty kick per team and a soul-crushing own goal from England's Laura Bassett. This sets up a World Cup Final rematch between the USA and Japan. (own goal)

Whoever wins on Sunday will not be receiving the trophy from Sepp Blatter. He will not be making the trip to Canada, presumably due to the potential of being arrested on behalf of the FBI.

Have you ever suggested that Sepp Blatter may be corrupt? Well Sepp Blatter thinks that you should go to jail, while he goes to heaven.
