Thomas fined for 'simulation' while Kevin Doyle gets nothing

This won't make your head explode or anything.

Thomas is new to the league so MLS decided to give him a little introduction this week the Disciplinary Committee. The DC decided that the Jaguar dove in the 58th while making a darting run through the midfielder. A defender stuck his leg out and from the camera angle you can't tell if there was contact but the league has more angles and decided Thomas did not have to go down. No foul or dive was called on the play, lending the DC to a review and an undisclosed fine for his actions.

While the league obviously put a close eye on this one, they did not put one on Kevin Doyle who led with an elbow right in the face of Gonzalo Pineda in the 80th minute. They decided that this was not fine or foul worthy for the future goalscorer.

The DC also fined the assistant coach for Montreal, our opponent this weekend, for berating a referee. As well as Adrian Heath, Orlando City's manager, for the same reason. Our frenemies to the north and south were found in violation of the mass confrontation policy after a Cristian Techara foul late in the match. It led to a post game "discussion" between players and refs in which Will Johnson saw two yellows after the final whistle.
