Seattle Sounders fans are understandably pretty excited about the potential of seeing Román Torres make his debut, possibly as soon as Sunday. But it's worth remembering that another group of fans lost their team's captain in the middle of their season.
To their credit, the sense on social media is that Millonarios' fans are actually very supportive of the move. They clearly had a connection with Torres and Torres had a connection with them, which is presumably why he felt the need to pen this letter thanking them for their support.

Here's the letter's translation (via Panamanian reader Roger Flores (@ rogerpty25)):
First of all I would like to thank all the expressions of support and affection received in recent days. Any operation that involves a transfer tends to be complicated, and it is more complicated if there is more than two parts involved, there will be differences and issues to be resolved for the negotiation's success. In my case there was some differences on certain points, but fortunately the dialogue remained open at all times between the executives of Chepo FC, Millonarios FC and La Equidad FC, whom I thank infinitely for not abandoning the dialogue and bringing this negotiation to a successful conclusion.
Today I say goodbye to a great institution. When I arrived, It was with many desire to do the things in the best way, representing my country (Panama) and to bring that commitment and sacrifice that everybody know that I have in order to achieve important things.
This work led me to have the blessing of dressing with pride and honor the Millonarios FC shirt in more than 100 matches, bear with great commitment the captain's armband and even contribute to winning the Colombian championship, moments that I will never forget. The cycles end, and today with great enthusiasm I start a new challenge in my professional career, I hope you guys understand me, I will always carry in my heart the love for the millionarios fc shirt and their fans, to those who, from me and from my family, I'll be forever grateful for the support and love, im making the promise that no matter where I am, I will continue supporting this great institution as a fan, hoping that the ways of soccer put us back together someday. I cannot forget all the Millonarios FC staff, to my colleagues, who also i will support and I'll take your love and respect.
See you soon guys and let´s go Millonarios !!!
