A two-goal, one-assist outing marked a long-awaited return for Obafemi Martins and a sensational debut and goal for newcomer Nelson Haedo Valdez. Captain Brad Evans made his return to central midfield to make way for the Panamanian Kaiju Román Torres.

Nelson Haedo Valdez impressed from the first whistle. Erik Friberg does well to get the ball to Valdez and then sends Oba in on goal:

Brad Evans and Erik Friberg were deployed as our center midfielders in a formation I like to call the "4-4-Taco". They were quite excellent on the day, both shutting down Kaká on multiple occasions.
