Brad Evans converts after Obafemi Martins draws penalty

The Seattle Sounders have not being playing particularly well, but after Brad Evans converted from the spot in the 43rd minute, they are leading the Portland Timbers 2-0 on Sunday. The goal was setup by Obafemi Martins, who had an amazing touch to control the over-the-top pass and then ran into Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kawarsey.

There was initially some confusion as the referee appeared to be signaling for a corner kick, but Alan Kelly eventually pointed to the spot. There's definitely room for disagreement on the call, but that's one to discuss later.

That set the stage for Evans, who entered this match 9-for-9 from the spot in his Sounders career. He drained it.
