Sounders 2 look to continue their top of USL West run against Vancouver Whitecaps 2. S2 is tied with LA II at the top of the West with Colorado Springs just one point behind them with a game in hand — making a win tonight needed to stay #1. 'Caps 2 sits in 8th in a very disappointing fashion for the reserve Canadian side.
S2 is 1-1-1 against Vancouver with their only matchup at Starfire ending in a 4-0 drubbing by the rave green. S2 is coming off a loss, falling to last year's USL Champs, Sacramento Republic FC, in SacTown, 2-0. The 'Caps beat beat Tulsa last time out, winning 3-1. Both sides saw a handful of their starters play during midweek in the CONCACAF Champions League matchup between their MLS sides. The 'Caps have been very weak this year but have some good goal scorers as shown in the 3-1 win over S2 last time out. But tonight at Starfire, where S2 has been nearly unbeatable — going 9-0-1 this year — expect whoever comes out to shutdown their rivals.
Captain Amadou Sanyang is out with a suspension. Damion Lowe and Oalex Anderson are both with their respective U23 National Teams trying to qualify for the 2016 Olympics. Tyler Miller is likely still out after his surgery. Darwin Jones is with the first side in LA. Charlie Lyon may or may not be available after being out for the last few matches as well.
The match will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. and is on YouTube if you choose not to go to Starfire. And because I feel this is missing a prediction, S2 wins 4-1 over 'Caps 2. Come at me.
