Despite putting out a far more experienced and talented lineup, the Seattle Sounders had struggled to really take control of their win-or-go home CONCACAF Champions League match against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday. That was until two struggling players connected on the game's first goal.
Taking a pass from Nelson Haedo Valdez, Chad Barrett put in a perfect cross to the front of the goal where Lamar Neagle couldn't help but redirect into the net. It was Neagle's second goal of this CCL campaign and the first he had scored in any competition this season since he scored in the first group stage match between these two teams. It was Neagle's six goal across all competitions.
