Looking for a sign that Lamar Neagle may actually be over his nearly season-long slump? Look no further than his second goal against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday that gave the Seattle Sounders a 3-0 lead in the 48th minute. Neagle finished off a wonderful buildup that started when Pa Modou Kah gave it away to Nelson Haedo Valdez, who backheeled it to Chad Barrett. Barrett took one look up and fed Neagle who was sprinting behind the backline and confidently fired from just inside the penalty area.
While getting chances has never been his problem, finishing ones just like that has been something Neagle has struggled with. With two goals under his belt and likely assuring the Sounders a spot in the CCL quarterfinals, maybe his confidence is back.
