Major Link Soccer: Prepping for tonight's US Open Cup Final

In case you missed it Master Chief will be at CenturyLink on Sunday night as the Seattle Sounders take on the LA Galaxy.

On the college soccer scene Seattle University is having a pretty good week. SU defeated No. 13 Oregon State on Sunday and No. 10 University of Washington on Thursday. SU defender Kyle Bjornethun was named Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week as well as College Soccer News National Player of the Week.

The Tacoma Stars are putting the final touches on their roster for the 2015-16 Major Arena Soccer League. Tuesday the Stars announced the signing of Elliot Fauske and Mike Ramos, both Fauske and Ramos have spent time at various local teams (Spokane Shadow & Kitsap Pumas) Ramos also had a loan spell with the Seattle Sounders 2.

Major League Soccer

Cyle Larin was drafted No. 1 in the 2015 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. His potential as a pro was on display in January's combine. Fast forward to September and Larin's potential has come to fruition, after breaking the rookie scoring record.

Having two jobs is tough for anyone, and for Steven Gerrard his second job requires him to fly back to England every other week to commentate on UEFA Champions League games. As a Seattle Sounders fan I think it's a great job for the LA Galaxy starting midfielder.

U.S. Soccer

Everyone's favorite Unkel will be a presence in tonight's U.S. Open Cup Final. Ted Unkel has been given the whistle for tonight's final between the Philadelphia Union and Sporting Kansas City. This isn't Unkel's first time in the spotlight having officiated last year's NASL final.

On October 10 when the USA takes on Mexico in the Rose Bowl 90,000+ will be in attendance, and (as a reminder) for those that can't be there the game will be played live in movie theaters across the USA. The winner advances to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. Both countries have started the hype by producing passion inducing videos. USA Video vs. Mexico Video.

CONCACAF Olympic qualifying kicks off this week. The USA is in action October 1 vs. Canada, October 3 vs. Cuba, and October 6 vs. Panama.

World Soccer

Bob Bradley has coached at the highest levels with the USMNT and the Egyptian National Team What he is doing at Stabaek in Norway is something entirely different.

If Jack Warner's lifetime ban by FIFA is any indication on how they will handle Sepp Blatter then we are all in for a long drawn out process. Warner quit world soccer in 2011 but only yesterday was handed his own personal lifetime ban.

There isn't much that can be said when violence happens on the soccer field, but when it's the Ref pulling out his hand gun?
