Obafemi Martins will be joined by Clint Dempsey in the Seattle Sounders' starting lineup and Nelson Haedo Valdez will be available off the bench against Toronto FC on Saturday. This is Dempsey's first start since Aug. 1 and just his second since June 13. It's the first time three three Sounders Designated Players have all available in the same game.
You'd have to go all the way back to May 15 to find the last time the Sounders fielded a starting lineup with three DPs.

Somewhat overshadowed in all that is Osvaldo Alonso's return to the starting lineup. Although Alonso played in last week's win over the Portland Timbers, the defensive midfielder had missed the three previous games. Andreas Ivanschitz is also on the bench for the first time since joining the Sounders about a month ago.
Even without center back Román Torres and midfielder Marco Pappa (both for international duty), this is one of the strongest lineups the Sounders have fielded this season
