The USMNT plays the second of two warm up matches, a 2-1 win over Peru on Friday and Brazil today, before taking on Mexico in in the CONCACAF Cup on October 10th for a berth in the Confederations Cup Russia 2017. Following the USMNT, Mexico plays Argentina on the same channels from Arlington, Texas

The USMNT take on Brazil from Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.  The USMNT is 1-16-0 all time against Brazil.  With the lone win being the legendary Kasey Keller shuts down Romario and company with an epic 10 save performance that will live on forever via YouTube.

The USMNT enter this match off a 2-1 win over Peru from RFK stadium, while Brazil beat Costa Rica 1-0 at Red Bull Arena.  Both matches were on Friday.  Jozy Altidore had both goals for the USMNT while Hulk scored the winner for Brazil over Los Ticos.

With the one game playoff against Mexico looming next on the calendar for Jurgen Klinsmann and the USMNT (October 10th, Rose Bowl), the defense is still in disarray.  At RFK the backline read (L-R) Tim Ream - John Brooks - Omar Gonzalez - Michael Orozco.  Four players more used to playing as center backs started across the backline.  At halftime Geoff Cameron replaced Orozco at RB and Ventura Alvarado replace Gonzalez at CB, Matt Besler entered for John Brooks in the 63rd minutes while only Ream went the full 90 minutes.

Speaking of defenses, here is a particularly telling look at the club pedigree disparity on display today in Boston.  The clubs who employ each player, defense only.

USA: Club America, Hertha Berlin, Stoke City, Atlas, LA Galaxy, Club Tijuana, Fulham and Birmingham City

Brazil: PSG, PSG, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Atlético Mineiro

Jordan Morris was called in for this match.  Morris took the expected place of Clint Dempsey who stayed with the Seattle Sounders as he is still recovering from the injury that has kept him out of the Sounders lineup until recently.  Morris is expected to be part of the USMNT activities in October, but it is still not decided if he will be with the senior team for the one game playoff or the U23's for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament (October 1-13 across four MLS venues).  Age eligible DeAndre Yedlin and John Brooks will stay with the full squad for the Mexico game over the U23s.  Yedlin started against Peru and was one of four outfield players to play the full 90 minutes.
