It will come as little surprise considering how highly coaches and technical staff have spoken of him, but Jordan Morris will continue his trial with Werder Bremen as they head back to Germany following their midseason training in Turkey.
"I'll stay a few days in Bremen," Morris is quoted as saying in a German publication. "Let's see how it goes then."
Werder Bremen is only planning to be home for a short time, though, and they'll continue their training in Hungary. Werder Bremen doesn't begin Bundesliga play until Jan. 24. Werder Bremen coach Victor Skripnek said it was a still a possibility that Morris would join the team in Hungary, but nothing appears to have been decided.
Although it was always a possibility that the trial could be cut short, the plan has seemingly always that Morris would remain with Werder Bremen until he joins the United States training camp on Jan. 20. Assuming the Bundesliga club wants to sign him, Morris will understandably want to visit their home stadium, training grounds and get a sense for what kind of environment he'd be committing to.
