Major Link Soccer: Matt Miazga to Chelsea?

Landon Donovan has a baby, Caleb Porter gets an extension, and Juan Carlos Osorio has a problem with MLS.

Seattle

The club released the first episode of their new official show, the "Sound of Soccer".

Clint Dempsey is entering his third full season with the Seattle Sounders, but this will be his first full off-season. Matt Pentz writes about how this may affect Dempsey's season and the Sounders as a whole.

Just as a Reminder, the Tacoma Stars are offering a Sounder At Heart special tomorrow at their match in Kent. Will we see you there?

MLS

DC United's recent update to their stadium plans hit most as a bit of a disappointment. SI.com talks about some of the factors that go into the changes like the ones being faced by DCU fans.

In what seems to me like good news for Sounders fans, Caleb Porter has been signed to a long-term extension in the Rose City. Other news coming out of Portland is the rumor that an 18-year-old Alexis Meva could be leaving the Barcelona development system for T2.

Kei Kamara is participating in Columbus Crew preseason activities, but it isn't clear if his contractual dispute is a thing of the past.

Coming as no surprise to anyone, Ashley Cole has officially signed with the LA Galaxy.

New York Red Bulls and US national team centerback Matt Miazga is seemingly on his way to Chelsea. The immediate assumption is that he would expect to be loaned out, but SI.com sources say that it may not be the case.

Orlando City SC has rewarded their MVP, Darwin Cerén, with a significant raise and extension. He'll also be joined in the defense this year by Honduran U-20 defender Devron Garcia who just signed with the team.

If you are like me, you were happy to see Blas Perez cut from FC Dallas. The mere possibility of him joining with the Vancouver Whitecaps is not such welcome news.

Woe to him who is a fan of the Colorado Rapids. The possibility of signing Tim Howard in the mid-season does little to counter the charge that they are having the offseason from hell.

Still reeling from the loss of the St. Louis Rams, the governor of Missouri will reportedly be meeting with Garber to discuss MLS expansion.

It doesn't seem that Jordan Morris' decision to join MLS will affect his national team exposure, but the Mexican National Team manager may not grant the same freedom to his prospects.

NASL

The NASL will be expanding from 11 to 12 teams this year, but that's only with the addition of three new teams. Commissioner Bill Peterson is apparently neither surprised or concerned about the league shake-up and hasn't given up on NASL in Atlanta.

USA

Landon Donovan is a proud father.

Should MLS and US Soccer fans be concerned that the type of hooliganism seen among NFL fans could spread to our beloved sport?

World

Six Latin American soccer federations were recently fined for the homophobic chants of their supporters, but it seems unlikely that this is a problem that will be solved quickly or easily.
