There are never any shortage of transfer rumors surrounding Obafemi Martins. This is not just a thing that's been happening since he joined the Seattle Sounders, mind you. Martins is the guy who has customized chairs made for every team he's played for, a list that includes eight clubs and one country.
This offseason, though, has been a bit light in that department. The only rumor we felt compelled to mention was one that loosely linked Martins to an offseason loan to either Newcastle or Sunderland.
Still, I suppose it's good that Martins felt compelled to literally wave off any current rumors and assert that he's planning to stick around in Seattle for the foreseeable future.
"I don't have any intention to leave Sounders now. I read the many reports suggesting that I may be leaving Sounders soon, well they may have their sources but take it from me that I'm not quitting the club yet. I'm still a Sounders player and I'm enjoying my game again so let's just leave it at that."
Not that we necessarily needed to hear this, but it's at least somewhat comforting ... right?
