Nicolas Lodeiro’s replacement has been named and it is.....Erik Friberg. Seattle Sounders are rolling out a 4-1-4-1 with Cristian Roldan and Erik Friberg in the middle. Though it’ll likely play as a 4-2-3-1 with Roldan partnered with Alonso and Friberg playing the advanced role.
Outside of Friberg for Lodeiro, Seattle planned for zero changes but a late scratch of Ivanschitz has Herculez Gomez starting on the left wing for the Rave Green. The change of Andreas to Herc means that Roldan and Friberg will need to take a major role in creating chances. Gomez represents a very similar style to Fernandez playing out left with a bit more willingness to shoot and cross. His partnership with Morris will be more similar to that of a second striker than Ivanschitz or Fernandez has provided.

Vancouver’s starting lineup includes 15 year old Alphonso Davies with Christian Bolanos and Giles Barnes in the attacking midfield. His speed should help but inexperience may be a problem.
Ivanschitz’ removal is due to a neck strain.
