It would appear that the full-blown dance party we’ve been greeted by in recent weeks was put on hiatus after the Seattle Sounders’ fourth straight win, but we did get a new twist: Roman Torres dancing to “Sounders win away.”
For the uninitiated, this song is a tradition that dates back to at least the Sounders’ USL days. It’s a tradition that’s survived through the likes of Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer and veteran Zach Scott, both of whom have deep roots in those teams.
And while this song has been sung countless times, it’s entirely plausible that Torres is the first player to turn it into a dance number. It seems a worthy addition to the tradition.
