The last time the USMNT played in Cuba was 2008.  Newly appointed Swansea City manager Bob Bradley was the coach and Clint Dempsey scored the only goal in a 1-0 win in World Cup Qualifying.  Tim Howard and Brad Guzan were the keepers but they have been left off today's roster as manager Jurgen Klinsmann has gone with three young keepers in David Bingham, Evan Horvath and William Yarbrough for this friendly.  Only the current captain Michael Bradley and recently back with the national team Sacha Kljestan were on both the rosters.

This game and the New Zealand friendly on Tuesday are tune up matches for when the final stage of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying (The Hex) starts in November with Mexico in Columbus on November 11th and at Costa Rica on November 15th.  With Clint Dempsey out for the rest of the year, it is important for the USMNT to get their attack set and familiar before those important matches.  Jozy Altidore and Bobby Wood have started to form a fruitful partnership, but will Jordan Morris's strong play in MLS force his way into the starting lineup?  Or will Morris settle in to what seems to be a late substitute role to run at tired defenders?  Also look for how the team integrates 18 year old Dortmund wunderkind Christian Pulisic to the attack.

In defense look for former Seattle Sounder DeAndre Yedlin to lock down the right back role paired with John Brooks and Geoff Cameron in the middle.  The question about the defense is the same as it has been for a decade, who plays left back?  With an eye on the Mexico and Costa Rica games look for Klinsmann to get Fabian Johnson some playing time there again.  Johnson plays in attack for his Champions League club, Borussia Mönchengladbach.
