Here are the details of MLS Cup ticket lottery

The Seattle Sounders announced on Tuesday that if Toronto FC beats Montreal Impact in the Eastern Conference finals and hosts Seattle for the MLS Cup final, the away-ticket allocation will be open to Sounders season-ticket holders through a lottery system. An exact number of available tickets was not released, but it will be extremely limited. Season-ticket holders must apply through a form on the club website. Members are not automatically entered for this lottery.

Here are the lottery guidelines, per the club announcement:

One entry per account.

If selected as a winner, you are eligible to purchase the same number of tickets associated with the selected season ticket member account for the 2016 season.

Tickets provided will be physical, hard stock tickets and will not be available digitally. Winners must physically present identification and physically pick up the tickets either in Seattle or Toronto.

Lottery entries will be accepted until Thursday, December 1 at 5:30 p.m. PST.

First round of winners will be notified via email on Friday, December 2.

All winners must process payment by 12:00pm on the business day following notification in order to secure seat(s).

Sounders FC reserves the right to select more rounds of winners until all available inventory is exhausted.

Here’s a little fine print regarding the lottery:

Must enter before 5:30 PM PST December 1, 2016 to be eligible. Must be account holder in good standing. Unredeemed award of tickets shall be forfeited. Sounders reserve right to suspend, cancel, or change program at any time. Physical tickets only. Must pick up in person in Seattle or Toronto. No purchased tickets shall be refunded. International travel required to attend match.

Of course, there is one other possibility...

If Montreal holds onto their first-leg lead and wins the Eastern Conference, they will travel to CenturyLink Field as the Sounders had a better regular-season record. Current season-ticket holders will have access to a special presale before the tickets are opened up to the public. That presale opens on Wednesday, November 30 shortly after the completion of the Eastern Conference finals, and closes on Friday, December 2 at 10 a.m.

For season ticket holders who are part of the Pay as We Play playoff ticket program as of October 14, tickets are already reserved. If you’re not sure if you’re in the program, the team says to “please contact the Sounders FC Fan Relations department at 877-MLS-GOAL or email customerservice@soundersfc.com.”
