Seattle Sounders head to Toronto for MLS Cup

TFC nets two extra time goals to beat Montreal 7-5 on aggregate.

With a high-octane series that saw 12 total goals scored Toronto FC managed to outlast the Montreal Impact. The win by the Reds means that they will host the Seattle Sounders on December 10th (5 PM, Fox) with the MLS Cup on the line.

Jozy Altidore dominated the second leg scoring a goal and an assist. It was the assist that insured a TFC win.

Toronto will have one major concern. Sebastian Giovinco went down with an injury, though he walked off the field. It was his replacement, Benoit Cheyrou, that scored to bring the aggregate scoring to 6-5 in the 98th minute.

As Montreal did in leg one they squandered an early lead. Neither teams’ defense was particularly strong. The Impact were particularly poor on set-piece defense, where Toronto scored three of their five goals in leg two.

Weather in Toronto is supposed to be a mere 1 degree Celsius with some sun and snow flurries. Dress warm if you win the lottery from the Sounders or buy tickets through ECS.
