Jordan Morris earns a USMNT call to play Mexico

US-Mexico face off on November 11th, Jordan will be the lone Sounder on the roster this time.

MLS is giving clubs a week off between the conference semis and conference finals with FIFA holding World Cup qualifiers. Jordan Morris will join the list of players representing their national teams as non-US internationals Joevin Jones, Roman Torres, Nelson Valdez, Oniel Fisher, Damion Lowe and Nicholas Lodeiro received call-ups already.

US Soccer announced at half time of Montreal and New York Red Bulls’ playoff match the 26 players who would be vacating their clubs for the USMNT matches vs Mexico and Costa Rica on Friday November 11th and Tuesday the 15th.

With Clint Dempsey injured and Jurgen Klinsmann moving on from Brad Evans during this run of qualifiers, Jordan was the only likely call-up for the US National side.

Colorado, who advanced earlier today, are losing Jermaine Jones and starting keeper Tim Howard for national team duty as well.

Former Sounder and current Newcastle United wingback, DeAndre Yedlin, earned another call-up and will likely start in a backline that is without Geoff Cameron against Mexico. Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore and Sacha Kljestan are the only other players involved in the MLS Playoffs that Klinsmann called up this time around.
