Thanks to some rather shoddy set-piece defending by the Montreal Impact, the Seattle Sounders will have to go on the road in an effort to win their first-ever MLS Cup. But just because you are unable to take a few days off from your normal obligations to traipse across the continent, doesn’t mean you need to be resigned watching the game by yourself at home.
This being Seattle where soccer fandom is about as mainstream as anywhere, you’ll surely have no trouble finding a viewing party that fits your various needs.
We’d like to think that ours will tick off a lot of those boxes. The details:
Where: Queen Anne Beerhall. You may remember this from our viewing party for the CONCACAF Champions League game against Club America earlier this year. Sure, the Sounders lost, but it was at least bearable with about 300 shoulders to cry on. They’ve got great beer, tasty food and will even be running their normal Sounders Game Day special which includes a $10 beer-and-brat and $5 beers.
When: Saturday, Dec. 10. The game is scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m., but we’re telling people to get there around 4 p.m.
Who: One of the things we love about this venue is that it’s all ages. That means you don’t need to be 21 to get in and you can even bring your kids. Be aware that it’s going to be pretty full — our last event was packed — so you may want to get there early if you are worried about your little ones.
RSVP: It’s not mandatory, but it always makes life easier if we have an idea of how many people to expect so that the venue can be staffed appropriately. The best way to do that is to RSVP on the FB page.
